The International Business Tholons
The international business consultant Thelon’s revealed that San Jose is considered one of the top 10 emerging cities and No. 18 among the best in the world to outsource operations business (outsourcing) and information technology.
For the preparation of the list is extensive research conducted around the world and particularly in Latin America was considered leading cities in countries like Costa Rica.
Thus, San Jose was selected as one of the 10 cities emerging leaders of the world and the third best in Latin America, second only to Sao Paulo, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
According to the Director General of CINDE, Gabriela Lobed, “the track record, highly specialized human capital and the continued growth of leading companies in the services sector and the arrival of new firms to invest in the country, earned him Costa Rica this important position.”
Thelon’s study states in Latin America is emerging as the leading region for the establishment of outsourced services operations in the world and within it highlights the positioning and the future potential of Costa Rica.
This because the Costa Rican human resources has increasingly specialized in high value-added operations, such as shared services in the areas of finance, accounting and information technology, now also adding entertainment and media operations.
“Certainly the services sector in Costa Rica has been evolving, increasingly offering more sophisticated services and value added. We are delighted to receive recognition for the country, is another sign of good positioning that Costa Rica has around the world in this high-tech sector, “said Lobed.
